Murata has introduced MLCC products with advanced resin molding capabilities, which are attractive to EV manufacturers due to their properties.

Murata has broadened its portfolio of chip ferrite beads with the introduction of the BLM15PX_SH1 and BLM15PX_BH1 series. Supplied in a 1005 mm (0402 inch) size, these compact and rugged units are highly optimised for automobile deployment.

Murata has introduced the BLE32SN series of chip ferrite beads. These are the world’s first chip-type noise suppression components to have 20A current rating.

This year, Murata is sponsoring the Formula Student Team from the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, with a mixture of funding and electronic components. Since 2001, the FST Lisboa team has been designing, building and testing formula type cars to compete internationally in the Formula Student competitions. Murata has set a new capacitor performance benchmark with the introduction of its NFM15HC435D0E3. This is the world’s first automotive-grade three-terminal multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) to provide a capacitance of 4.3 μF in a 0402 inch (1.0 x 0.5 mm) size. As a result, superior power decoupling and noise removal can be brought to automobile designs in which high-performance processors are being employed - such as for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving functions.

Murata has co-developed a new generation of RFID modules with Michelin that embed into tyres. The robust passive RFID tags require no external power supply. They survive and continue to work while being driven on for extremely high mileages.
