Murata’s latest chip ferrite beads first to deliver high-current and high-frequency(1GHz) noise suppression in automotive systems

Murata continues to lead the way in noise suppression technology with another exciting industry first. By leveraging advanced structural simulation techniques, the company’s new BLM21HE series of chip ferrite beads have the unique capability of providing vehicles with power line noise suppression solutions that exhibit high impedance at high frequency levels.

Keeping it cool while on track

This year, Murata is sponsoring the Formula Student Team from the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, with a mixture of funding and electronic components. Since 2001, the FST Lisboa team has been designing, building and testing formula type cars to compete internationally in the Formula Student competitions. During this time, they developed nine prototypes, of which three were combustion and the remaining electric.

Murata three-terminal MLCC attains industry-leading 4.3 μF capacitance in a compact 0402 inch package to address space-restricted automotive deployments

Murata has set a new capacitor performance benchmark with the introduction of its NFM15HC435D0E3. This is the world’s first automotive-grade three-terminal multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) to provide a capacitance of 4.3 μF in a 0402 inch (1.0 x 0.5 mm) size. As a result, superior power decoupling and noise removal can be brought to automobile designs in which high-performance processors are being employed - such as for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving functions.
