AVL Adds Rohde & Schwarz GNSS Stimulation to Vehicle Test Environment

GNSS signals (for example GPS signals) are of major importance for positioning and tracking, orientation and safety-related information, such as congestion, in road traffic. A collaboration between AVL and Rohde & Schwarz, two of the world’s leading providers of measuring and automotive testing systems, now permits the reproduction of realistic GNSS reception conditions for testbed vehicle testing. As a result, users can reliably test all aspects of GNSS-based vehicle positioning – a core functionality of autonomous vehicles.

Sierra Wireless selects innovative R&S ATS1800C test chamber with gold reflector for 5G NR FR2 testing

Leading IoT solutions provider Sierra Wireless has selected the compact antenna test range (CATR) based R&S ATS1800C for mmWave frequencies (FR2) testing thanks to its class-leading characteristics. The transportable solution from Rohde & Schwarz features a state-of-the-art golden CATR reflector with rolled edges and a very smooth surface to minimize scattering and to provide precise measurement results as required for operation at high frequencies.

Rohde & Schwarz enables the development of next generation automotive radar chips with new high-precision test chamber

Rohde & Schwarz has developed the leading-edge R&S ATS1500C antenna test system, a test chamber for high performance radar testing, offering an outstanding indirect far-field testing performance. This innovation allowed Uhnder to mature the technology behind the first 4D digital automotive radar-on-chip with 192 virtual channels.

Rohde & Schwarz together with Fraunhofer Institutes HHI and IAF join forces in researching 6G at THz frequencies

While the new 5G technology is at the first stages of rollout, Rohde & Schwarz, the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute, HHI and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF are taking a step further with demonstrations in the terahertz (THz) frequency band, related to the 6th generation wireless mobile communication (6G). The collaboration has resulted in a wireless transmit and receive system operating between 270 and 320 GHz, with further frequency extensions for potential 6G bands already in preparation.
