Friedrichshafen/Munich, Germany. Under the motto “Next Generation Mobility. Now.”, at the IAA 2021, ZF is focusing on technology that is already available today for the next generation of vehicles. The latest generation of the ZF ProAI supercomputer plays a key role here: It offers customized computing power for virtually any vehicle platform and every level of automation.
In most commercial vehicle (CV) engines, the flywheel is a massive component. But despite its size, it can wear out: for example, on the starter gear ring or the friction surface. This is because the flywheel is tapered by only a few tenths of a millimeter in order to ensure smooth clutch engagement. The commercial vehicle experts at ZF Aftermarket therefore recommend careful checking of the flywheel when changing the clutch, and for the safest drive, this part also be replaced at the same time.
Thanks to the wireless and battery-free switch technology from ZF, there are various possible application fields to increase connectivity, flexibility, and convenience. Bus stop buttons are another smart application integrating the inductive RF generator module.
Professional workshop staff need professional tools, so ZF Aftermarket has introduced an assembly tool kit for shock absorber replacement to its range of special tools. This allows shock absorbers with piston rod journals to be mounted correctly without damaging the piston rod.
ZF Group is introducing a new scalable suite of Data and AI based services for ADAS Virtual Engineering and Digital Validation called ADAS.ai. ADAS.ai is designed to help OEMs accelerate the development of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. ZF ADAS.ai can be applied to ADAS systems developed by ZF as well as other Tier I suppliers.
