PROVERTHA EXPANDS ITS WIRECLIP RANGE WITH EXTREMELY COMPACT, LOW-PROFILE VARIANTS
Provertha is expanding the versatile WireClip portfolio of its process-reliable wire-to-board solutions to include low-profile variants. Thanks to the new Low Profile WireClips, wire-to-board solutions with the ultra-flat installation height of 2.5 mm can be realised.
The space-saving and highly economical clips are equipped with ready-to-connect cable assemblies that ensure process- and function-safe contacting of individual strands and wires on the PCB. Wherever absolute reliability of the cable connection and a space-saving solution are required, such as in industrial automation and the automotive industry, Provertha’s WireClip assemblies have proven their value.
The technology now enables a cost-efficient and space-saving wire-to-board solution with ready-to-connect WireClip cable assemblies with minimal installation height. The patented WireClip consists of a specially designed plastic part with an integrated snap-in board lock. The individual strands, which have been twisted and tin-plated in a special manufacturing process beforehand, are inserted into this component, angled and cut to size in a device.
The technology has already proven itself millions of times in the automotive industry and industrial automation. There is hardly a vehicle manufacturer that does not already use WireClips in their vehicles – in critical systems relating to vehicle safety and in the steering wheel area. Likewise, sensor manufacturers, who often have to overcome the challenges of confined installation spaces for populated PCB assemblies, take advantage of this compact solution.
At Provertha, WireClips are available as 90°-degree variants and in straight versions, as well as special designs, for example overmoulded variants. The new Low Profile WireClips have now been added, which further reduce the space requirement compared to the standard single-row version. Compared to alternative solutions, the space saving is significantly greater.
The current portfolio of Low Profile WireClips includes 3-pin and 4-pin versions for AWG22 (0.35 mm²) stranded wires. In line with the strapline “Fitting Your Application”, Provertha can also produce customised WireClip assemblies with different numbers of pins and other wire cross-sections with a customer-oriented time-to-market in its own toolmaking department.
