The order also includes mobile vehicle inspection stations. These stations are already found across the country, based on municipality, company and individual needs.

By choosing ACTIA, Mayelia Logistics & Automotive will benefit from all the expertise of ACTIA Group. We are able to offer innovative services and smart, robust and reliable equipment. Mayelia Logistics & Automotive would like to gain motorists’ trust in Côte d’Ivoire for this compulsory service.

ACTIA is already operating in 17 African countries including Uganda, Ghana, Algeria, South Africa and Botswana.

ACTIA INNOVATION FOR ROAD SAFETY IN CÔTE D’IVOIRE

ACTIA is the new partner to Mayelia Logistics & Automotive, with our robust, high-tech, safe solutions. The Group is helping Mayelia Logistics & Automotive to develop and innovate for vehicle inspections in the country. We are helping to improve national road safety.

The first delivery includes the supply of fixed lines for light vehicles, HGVs and passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as three mobile stations. They are already moving around the country. Mayelia Logistics & Automotive would like to grow based on the coverage plan. In May, ACTIA installed the first fixed inspection station in Vridi, a booming industrial zone in Abidjan, the country’s economic capital. The equipment is for both light vehicles and HGVs, which have a significant presence in the country.

In Côte d’Ivoire, road safety is now a priority

One of the main causes of road accidents is the poor condition of vehicles and especially ageing cars on the road. In 2019, Côte d’Ivoire government granted Mayelia Logistics & Automotive accreditation. The government would like to enhance its road safety policy by rolling out vehicle inspections in the country.

There are an estimated 1.5 million vehicles currently driving on Côte d’Ivoire roads. Only 500,000 vehicles have their technical condition monitored.

This means that over two thirds of vehicles on the road have not had a vehicle inspection and are potentially a real hazard for users.

HOW IS ACTIA VEHICLE INSPECTION EQUIPMENT HELPING TO IMPROVE CARS IN CÔTE D’IVOIRE?

We look for faults related to safety and emissions.

The vehicle inspection aims to reveal all technical faults.

These include anomalies caused by vehicle wear and tear and modifications made to the vehicles. This is common. The measurements taken on the vehicles relate to safety and environmental points.

In particular, we check the technical condition of: the brakes, suspension, vehicle alignment, lights and pollution emitted by the vehicle.

Equipment inter-connectivity for better cost effectiveness

To improve road safety, you need to enhance the customer journey and offer innovative services. By selecting ACTIA services and innovative equipment, Mayelia hopes to gain the trust of motorists in Côte d’Ivoire. The operator intends to improve the customer experience by eliminating queues. The service will be simple and fast.

Equipment inter-connectivity frees the operator from various repetitive tasks.

This enhances the centre’s vehicle capacity, for better cost effectiveness.

Bilanmatic XG is ACTIA’s vehicle inspection line for light vehicles, HGVs and passenger and commercial vehicles.

It connects to all equipment, such as pollution emission inspection solutions (ACTI-gas, ACTI-opa) and the latest headlamp beam tester (SmartLynx). Secure data is exchanged in real time. This means better cost effectiveness, preventing repetitive, time-consuming tasks.

Secure data to combat fraud

The use of innovative ACTIA technology also helps fight against corruption, which affects vehicle inspections in the country.

With ACTIA solutions, technicians taking the measurements do not have access to all results. The computerised report is sent directly to the station.

A full inspection report is automatically sent to the driver, the operator and the Côte d’Ivoire state authority. Only the authority is authorised to issue the famous disc.

Procedure automation and confidentiality guarantee system safety.

Vehicle inspection mobile stations

ACTIA mobile stations have the same equipment as the fixed centres. The vehicle inspection lines for light vehicles, HGVs and passenger and commercial vehicles are fully autonomous. Commissioning the mobile vehicle inspection stations enables Mayelia to offer a travelling service. They can therefore choose sites that are easy to reach and even go to the customer’s premises (for companies). Mayelia is creating closer relationships with users by improving the customer journey. The vehicle inspection is performed directly, in close proximity to the customer.

This increases the number of vehicle inspections performed, and eases and speeds up movement through the fixed centres.

The mobile vehicle inspection is for municipalities and companies that manage a fleet (e.g. road transport companies), as well as individuals in rural areas.

TO HANDLE THE FAST PACE, THE VEHICLE INSPECTION CENTRES REQUIRE ROBUST AND RELIABLE EQUIPMENT

Robust equipment, able to handle a fast pace

At each fixed station, Mayelia plans to process 200 to 400 vehicles per day. At the mobile stations, the provisional volume is around 150 to 300 vehicles per station per day. This pace really tests the robustness of ACTIA equipment.

This durability has proven itself in various countries, e.g. Chile and the Philippines.

The pace the centres have to cope with is the common condition for all new vehicle inspection provision policies in the country, as all vehicles on the road are to be tested.
