Important requirement for long-term cooperation with worldwide leading vehicle manufacturers: The certification according to IATF 16949 attests AKASOL a comprehensive and extremely efficient quality management system.

Since 2010, AKASOL has had a highly successful quality management system in place that complies with the DIN EN ISO 9001 standard. The requirements of the IATF 16949 automotive standard now go well beyond this. “Continuous adaptation and optimization in our production processes have always been integral to our approach to quality management, and these factors are crucial to our company’s ongoing success and growth in manufacturing and developing high-quality products for the electrification of the commercial-vehicle market,” Ronald Schüßler says.

Only by continuing to emphasize error prevention and by continuously ensuring a high level of flexibility, efficiency and quality in the supply chain can rising customer expectations be met in the long term. Particularly to the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, supplier certification under IATF 16949 is an important prerequisite to long-term cooperation. “As a manufacturer of the most important electrification component for our customers, we are all the more delighted to have met this contractually agreed quality promise according to plan,” Schüßler points out.

The IATF 16949 industry standard creates an internationally uniform and comparable standard that lays down a series of requirements for excellence in quality management in the automotive industry. The certification combines the nationally published automotive quality standards around the globe and covers all areas along the entire value chain of automotive manufacturing. The goal of IATF 16949 certification is to advance development of a quality management system that not only provides for continuous improvement but also contributes toward reducing errors and waste in supply chains.

A central aspect of the standard is to promote error prevention rather than error detection. Consequently, this technical specification is primarily intended to foster preventive measures that will rule out future defects. A strong customer orientation is the focus of all of the measures taken.
