ZF at busworld Türkiye 2026
From June 17-19, in Istanbul, ZF demonstrated its latest driveline safety and digital solutions designed to improve fleet reliability and lower total cost of ownership.

The integration of digital health monitoring with electrified drivelines addresses the operational efficiency challenges faced by public transit authorities and vehicle manufacturers. By linking physical commercial vehicle components directly to cloud-based diagnostics, the approach establishes scalable digital infrastructure to lower total cost of ownership and maintain uptime.
Technical System Architecture
The core configuration pairs the AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle with remote health check software operating as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. Designed for low-floor city buses, the axle utilizes standardized hardware components and shared software modules to minimize integration complexity for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
This modular driveline kit reduces average energy consumption by 20 percent during standardized SORT (Standardised On-Road Test) cycles compared to previous generations, lowering the onboard battery capacity required for specific range targets.
Remote Diagnostics and Pneumatics
The software component monitors e-drive operational data remotely to facilitate early fault detection. Fleet operators, OEMs, and independent fleet management systems process these data streams to transition from scheduled maintenance intervals to predictive, condition-based maintenance schedules.
To meet pneumatic requirements within electrified architectures, the system integrates the e-comp Scroll oil-free air compressor. Developed for medium- and heavy-duty hybrid, battery-electric, and fuel-cell vehicles, the unit uses interlocking scrolls to compress air. This design limits noise emissions to approximately 67 dB(A) at a nominal operating point of 250 liters per minute, adhering to commercial vehicle noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) specifications.
Operational Safety and Telematics Integration
The system incorporates an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite designed to comply with General Safety Regulation (GSR II) mandates. Rather than using isolated components, the scalable architecture unifies camera sensors, radar hardware, and control software into a coordinated vehicle motion control system.
Active functions include:
- Intelligent Speed Assist
- Blind Spot Information System
- Driver Monitoring System
- Event Data Recorder
Data aggregation across these domains is managed by the ZF Bus Connect telematics platform. This digital infrastructure links the driveline, braking systems, and auxiliary units. The consolidated data stream enables real-time battery analytics and continuous component wear assessment, protecting structural investments throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
