ZF Unveils New TRW Motorcycle Brake Pads
The new TRW Motorcycle Brake Pads from ZF enable shorter braking distances and are highly heat-resistant, providing 100% braking power with a new heavy-metal-free friction material.

TRW’s new brake pads deliver stronger initial grip and remarkable heat resistance, ensuring reliable braking even under demanding conditions. The new friction compound is free of Copper, Nickel, and Antimony, reducing environmental impact without sacrificing durability or effectiveness. With reduced brake dust and noise, these pads are as gentle on the environment as they are tough on stopping power. All products meet strict ECE-R90 standards.
A Rollout Aligned with Market Needs
Five out of twelve friction materials used in TRW’s motorcycle brake pads range have undergone the transition process, with two friction materials currently in development. This means, over 80 percent of the TRW brake pad portfolio has transitioned, with 90 percent expected by the end of 2025. Prioritization focuses on high-demand segments to ensure the most widely used applications benefit first. The order of transition is as follows: ALLROUND (No Suffix) and EC, followed by SV, SH (Sinter Street) and SRM (Maxi Scooter), SI (Offroad Sinter end of 2025), and PC (Performance Comfort) pads by Q3-Q4 2025.
Seamless Transition for Workshops and Distributors
Upgrading is straightforward. The new and old friction materials are fully compatible and can be safely used together on the same axle, simplifying inventory and installation. Packaging and part numbers remain unchanged, allowing distributors and workshops to introduce the new range without disruption — maximizing uptime and minimizing complexity.
Driving ZF’s Strategic Vision Forward
This launch highlights ZF Aftermarket’s focus on transforming legacy businesses through innovation. By leading the braking category with advanced material science, ZF enhances product reliability and rider safety, reinforcing market leadership. With more than 7,500 applications covered and counting, TRW’s new pads are setting the pace for the future of motorcycle braking.
